As a Lviv resident, I don't want to see the gentrification that has irrevocably altered so many historic centres in neighbouring countries. Mercifully, much of our historic centre is resistant to such change. Long may it continue.
The most rewarding part of this respect for tradition is that our inns and taverns are thriving. Beer in Lviv has a long and colourful history - lavish tales of boundless revelry are still the stuff of legend.
Expect one of our lovely local beer lords or ladies to lead you to no less than five clandestine Lviv locales, each one as curious as can be, an Alice in every glass!
